Rob has been brilliant and we cannot recommend him enough. My daughter has been transformed from a novice to competing in local, and even national events. Rob has an excellent rapport with her and always has time for her and any questions she has. Her confidence and enjoyment have increased dramatically and she is now competing competitively on a national level in triathlon as a direct result of her bike skills.

Rob has been my coach since June 2023. I wanted to improve my fitness for riding generally but I also decided to try a couple of circuit races and a Sportive. Rob prepared a training plan for me, which was very thorough and well thought out and still catered for my busy life as a full time working Mum of two. It was a collaborative process between the two of us.

It was a tough ask sometimes to fit all of the training in and I missed some of the sessions planned but Rob regularly checked in to see how things were going, how I was feeling and ensuring the results were going in the right direction.

The plan (and Rob in the background) gave me the motivation to get on the bike even when I didn’t really feel like it. I was able to complete the races and I managed to complete the sportive with no less than 60 PBs compared to the same ride last year.

Most importantly I was able to ride out with my son on holiday competently and not keep him waiting too much – priceless.

I can’t thank Rob enough. His knowledge, thoroughness and attention to detail was clear but his genuine support and wanting me to succeed made it all the more enjoyable.

Training with Rob has helped me so much as a cyclist. He always makes sure my workouts are designed specifically for me and how I’m feeling, rather than just giving me a generic plan. Because of this, I’ve improved a lot and feel way more confident in my own ability on the bike. Rob is always really supportive and positive, even when sessions are tough, and that makes a huge difference. Before Rob and I started working together nearly two years ago, I never really saw myself as a ‘real’ cyclist - certainly not a racing cyclist. I loved being out on the bike, but coming from a running-only background, I had no idea how to train properly, push myself in the right ways, or understand what I was truly capable of. Since Rob began coaching me, everything has changed. It’s not just my cycling fitness that has improved - he has completely transformed my confidence and self-belief, two things that had been holding me back.

 

We’ve now had two incredible CX seasons together with some fantastic results along the way. Rob has an amazing ability to make every goal feel achievable, even when it sounds completely out of reach, and his feedback after training sessions always lands perfectly. His encouragement, patience, and instinct for knowing exactly what I need to keep progressing have been invaluable. Focusing on confidence this past season has been a complete game changer. I’m not a young rider and I have different needs to his group of hugely talented younger athletes, but Rob and I have a great rapport and I trust him completely. He never sets sessions just for the sake of it - everything has a clear purpose to make me stronger and ready for my chosen discipline of cyclocross.

Rob has been my coach for over 2 years now and seen me through my transition from national youth triathlete to being competitive nationally in cyclocross and hill climbing events.
